Natural-language search

Describe what you are looking for, like sunset at the beach. Local semantic search finds it without sending anything out.

Face recognition

Detection groups the same person across your library. Find everyone in two clicks, with manual review.

Smart geocoding

GPS from your photos becomes city, state, and country, with an offline geocoder or online Nominatim. You choose.

Connected to Google, if you want

Upload to Google Photos via OAuth and use Cloud Vision with your own API keys. Everything is optional and off by default.

Private by default

Everything lives in a self-contained catalog on your own drive. The app works as a smart overlay on the folders you already have: nothing is copied, moved, or uploaded.

Cloud features exist, but they are strictly optional and only run when you enable them, with your own credentials.

Read the Privacy Policy

All the formats that matter

RAW from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, and Leica, with thumbnails, metadata, and in-app video playback.

Frequently asked questions

Does Aperture Studio AI move or alter my files?
No. The catalog is non-destructive: point it at the folders you already have and it indexes everything without copying, moving, or altering a single original. Even edits (crop, rotation) stay in the catalog and are only applied on export.
Does the AI send my photos to the cloud?
Not by default. Keywords, semantic search, and faces run with local models on your PC. Google Cloud Vision and AWS Rekognition are optional, use your own keys, and stay off until you enable them.
Does it work with my camera's RAW files?
Very likely yes: Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax, Leica, and DNG, plus HEIC/HEIF from iPhones, JPEG, PNG, TIFF, WebP, and video in MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, and WebM.
Do I need internet to use it?
Only to activate the app and download media tools on first run. Day-to-day use (catalog, local AI, search, offline geocoding) works without a connection, and the app does not import photos from online services.

Ready to find every photo again?

Download Aperture Studio AI from the Microsoft Store and point it at the folders you already have. The AI handles the rest.
